Job Description – Part-Time Administrative Assistant


The Administrative Assistant is accountable to the Chamber Manager for carrying out specific duties and responsibilities.  The position is responsible for assisting in the efficient and effective administration of the Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Centre. The position is for 3 days a week with some weekends and evenings throughout the year depending on events.


  • Must be physically capable of carrying out assigned duties
  • Must be able to carry out assigned tasks and duties with a minimum of direction and/or supervision
  • Must be able to exercise courtesy and tact when dealing with the public
  • Must be able to work safely in accordance with WorkSafe BC regulations
  • Ability to understand and carry out effective oral and written communications
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence
  • Post-secondary training in Administration, Business Administration, Tourism & Hospitality, or another relevant field preferred
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects
  • Must have exceptional computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and WordPress
  • Must have good organization skills
  • Previous experience in the service or hospitality industry is beneficial
