About

Branch # 50 of the Royal Canadian Legion received its charter on November 24, 1927, making us 95
years old this year. Names on the charter include Arthur Shelford and John L. Brown.
The Royal Canadian Legions’ mandate is to serve Veterans, including serving military and RCMP
members and their families, to promote Remembrance, and to serve our communities and our country.
We are a non-profit organization and social enterprise that welcomes the public to help support our
local Veterans. You no longer need to be a Legion member to attend any function at the Legion. We
pride ourselves on being of service to our community.
We have supported the Burns Lake Army Cadets and the Link with the profits from our meat draws held
on Saturdays at the Legion.
We organize the annual Remembrance Day service and the Poppy drive.
We offer hall rental, memorial service, food service, fundraising events, darts and crib. A great place to
relax and socialize.
